KITCHEN (HALF OF IT) BEFORE
...notice there's wallpaper on the cupboards? I didn't realize til' now that I didn't get very many before pictures of the kitchen. I didn't take pictures of the wall that I'm standing next to. It too, had dark paneling, and the same striped wallpaper. Check out that window fixure!KITCHEN AFTER
..yes, the counters are still the same. Everything from the ceiling to the floor was refinished and/or painted. New dishwasher, new electrical outlets, new knobs for drawers and cupboards, all new plumbing, a ton of sanding and a deep cleaning involving a toothbrush and we have a decently updated kitchen. No more dirty looking off white.
A view into the kitchen nook. That nook took a lot of time. It has these high ceilings and very hard to reach corners because of some built in cabinets above the fridge. Again, all refinished from the ceiling and the light fixture to the new trim at the bottom. I realized that the white cupboards and the very faint yellow walls make the counters look brighter, but I still stand behind me decision in colors. Someday down the road, maybe I will be able to replace the counter tops and update the floors in this area. It was just too costly for this time around.
...another view of this half of the kitchen. The other half is still being cleaned up from all the constuction dust. Nice, new, and matching dishwasher and a much lighter wall. I encountered a spider so big in this corner, you could hear it crawl. I probably jumped 3 feet into the air.
